These heart "beet" sticks are soft, vibrant, naturally tinted breadsticks with a tender crumb. Serve with pasta, salad, or soup and ideal for festive occasions, special meals, and date night dinners. This recipe provides measurements using fresh roasted beet puree and beet powder.

    About these heart "beet" sticks

These are best, soft, and delicious breadsticks with roasted beets that  are heart shaped. With this amazing shape and vibrant color, these breadsticks are an amazing one to make for a Valentine meal. These breadsticks will tell your loved ones how much you love them or how your heart beats for them.

Roasted beet puree gives the best color to the breadsticks. This post provides the recipe with beet powder too, the color of the bread will not be this vibrant. Fresh beetroot adds lovely color, but adds to the moisture. Therefore you will require different quantity of flour to make the dough depending on whether you use fresh roasted beet puree or beet powder.

These breadsticks are vegan using extra virgin olive oil. Olive oil imparts a delicious flavor to these breadsticks. Therefore you can serve for anyone with or without special dietary requirements.

In addition basil-garlic-olive oil brushing after baking gives extra boost. This is optional but I highly recommend it.

You can customize it by adding your favorite herb or seeds. Instead of brushing, you can sprinkle any herbs or garlic powder while rolling to a rope for shaping for the toppings stick to the dough easily for uniform distribution.

    Ingredients

To make these vibrant and flavorful heart beet sticks, you will require the following:

All purpose flour - gives structuire to the breadsticks

    Salt - gives flavor

Water - to knead the dough

Active dry yeast - leavens the bread adding structure

Roasted beet puree or beet powder - enhances the flavor providing a vibrant color. Adds antioxidants too.

    Olive oil - enhances flavor

Garlic powder and dried basil - boosts the final flavor of the breadsticks

    Serving Suggestions

These heart beet sticks easily pair with a delicious soup or salad, or pasta. Serve these with pesto or any other dip for an appetizer.

    Storage

I store these at room temperature for a day or if there are any leftovers. Honestly, my kids and hubby would munch them on the go. If you want to store them for a few more days or longer refrigerate or freeze them. Warm them in the oven and serve when needed.

    Naturally Colored Breads

This bread is naturally colored using beets. Like this, there are many ways to color breads naturally and at the same time flavoring the breads, making amazing, and one of a kind bread loaves. Matcha Orange Loaf, and Matcha and Strawberry Cream Melon Pan are colored and flavored with Matcha powder. Multigrain Carrot Rolls and carrot Cinnamon Rolls get the vibrant orange with carrot juice. Turmeric can also be used to flavor and color the bread. This Spiced Up Potato, Turmeric, and Oat bread is a delicious one!
