This beetroot hummus is a vibrant, flavorful, and nutritious twist on your regular hummus. This brings a unique appeal to the table when you place it. Just serve this vegan hummus with some pita chips, bread, or veggies.

    Why this beetroot hummus?

First of all, the addition of beetroot adds a vibrant color to the hummus. It also adds antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. This is a perfect reason to add beetroot to food as it improves heart health, increases stamina, and overall health.

Next, garbanzo beans are high in protein and fiber. That’s the reason why this dip is creamy, filling, and comforting. Tahini adds extra creamy, nutritious, and flavorful.

Hummus gets its rich flavor with multiple ingredients. Roasted beet further adds addictive flavor to the hummus.

Coming to the ease of making, this simple dip is easy to make. It makes not just a wonderful appetizer, but an eye-catching one. Healthy and protein rich appetizer!

With the new year, and new health resolutions, smart snacking is the way to go and this hummus helps in snacking healthy. Don’t just snack, snack smart!

Homemade is always the best and this easy recipe is for you. It also helps you save money and the hummus is free of any added preservatives and chemicals.

    Ingredients

You will need the following ingredients to make this vibrant and delicious beetroot hummus:

Garbanzo beans - these beans form the protein-rich base for the hummus. You can use canned beans, or soak and cook the beans at home.

    Salt - gives flavor

Tahini - Adds nutty flavor and creaminess to the hummus.

Garlic - enhances the flavor of hummus.

Oil - This recipe uses olive oil and I highly recommend this.

Roasted beets - Roasted beets add a beautiful flavor and vibrant color to the hummus. This also increases the nutritional value and immense health benefits.

Cumin - Adds a touch of earthy flavors.

Lemon juice - balances the flavor

Black pepper and Cayenne - Add to heat. This hummus is not spicy one. You may adjust the levels of black pepper and cayenne as per your taste preference.

Herbs - dill and parsley pair well with the flavors of this hummus.

    Serving suggestions

This delicious and creamy beetroot hummus is the best! I love to add extra drizzle of olive oil or add toasted nuts or sesame. These are optional but the optional topping also enhances flavor.

The olive oil drizzle is amazing, it enhances flavor adding more garlic tones, and do not miss that. I serve this with pita chips, breads, and veggies. Veggies and hummus combo is my favorite. Try this dip now and you'll agree.

This hummus can be used as a spread too! I use it in my roti wraps too.Because of its amazing color, it is a great one to give a boost to any appetizer boards.

Beetroot not only adds color. It is also a powerhouse of nutrients and its benefits are well known. When coupled with protein rich garbanzos, this amazing dip gives more nutrition and is filling too! It just helps cut down the cravings as it is very very delicious! Because of the beautiful color, this can be a great food for Valentine 's Menu!

    Storage

Homemade hummus can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Usually, I make it and use it everyday for snack or for snack style healthy lunch with veggies.

As you can store this in the refrigerator, this is an easy appetizer on the menu always for special occasions. Whenever you plan to get togethers, make sure to add this to your menu.

    More Hummus Recipes

Hummus is a healthy and protein rich snack. I love to add my own spin on hummus as this is an easy canvas and absorbs different flavors easily.  Chipotle Hummus is one that is bold and has a unique smoky flavor. I would also recommend this mint-cilantro hummus or red pepper hummus as these are my favorites!

    More Dips/Spreads

I love snacks and who doesn’t! Whether it is Roasted Fennel and Pumpkin Seed Dip, or Creamy Dill Cream Cheese Dip, Piquant Veggie Bagel Spread, or this hummus, I love such snacks!

Kids would love to have this Cheesy Tomato and White Bean Dip with bread making a quick and budget friendly weeknight meal. With delicious dips it is even possible to make a snack style meal making it fun and different from regular one.

This hummus sounds amazing Radha but I don't see beets in the ingredient list. I love beets and hummus so this is a great Valentine Day marriage of flavors.

I LOVE beets so I'd be totally on board for this. The best part is that in my house, I would not have to share!

Dill and beets are a delicious combo! I love the red color of this hummus! Perfect for New Year's and Valentine's Day. Golden beets would make it a pretty color, too.
