      These nutella rolls are soft and fluffy rolls with luscious swirls of nutella and hazelnuts, and with a creamy, irresistible nutella frosting!

      About these nutella rolls

      Chocolate and hazelnut are universal favorites and these Nutella rolls capture both the flavors in a simple, addictive, and comforting roll. These are perfect for anyone who loves a warm and fresh baked rolls.

      Every bite of these rolls offer the perfect balance of softness, sweetness, and richness, making these rolls a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for both children and adults alike. Setting a tray of these Nutella rolls immediately adds a warm comforting vibe to your dining room.

      These incredible rolls can be served for breakfast, brunch, dessert. Serve as a special snack for tea time.

      You can customize these rolls easily. These Nutella rolls with cream cheese and nutella frosting is heavenly! Though it is optional, I recommend it, the Nutella in every layer is so addictive. Instead, add chopped nuts or chopped fruits. Or drizzle chocolate sauce or Nutella for a fun twist.

      Ingredients

      To make these Nutella rolls, you will need the following ingredients:

      All purpose flour - forms the base and gives structure to the rolls.

      Salt - gives flavor

      Sugar - sweetens the dough and activates the yeast

      Nutella - chocolatey, nutty spread that gives the satisfaction of having toast with Nutella but a softer and addictive version.

      Milk - enhances flavor and yields softer rolls.

      Active dry yeast - leavens the bread. Alernatively, you can use instant yeast. Add it to the bread machine finally, no activation required.

      Heavy cream - addition of cream yields a very soft and tender crumb.

      Butter - gives flavors and yields a softer bread.

      Cream cheese - with a slight tang, perfectly pairs with Nutella creating the best frosting for the best rolls!

      Powdered sugar - Sweetens the frosting

      Vanilla - Gives aroma and flavor. This recipe uses Taylor & Colledge Madagascar Vanilla Extract. This adds a wonderful vanilla flavor to the rolls.

      Hazelnuts - adds nutty and crunchy bite, adds to the proteins and micronutrients.

      Serving Suggestions

      These rolls are perfect to serve for breakfast and brunch. Nutella lovers, have it with a cup of Nutella hot cocoa for the wonderful taste experience. Alternatively, these are also idea to serve with morning coffee or afternoon tea.

      You can also serve the rolls with the frosting on the side such that there is a customization option.

      You can serve these addictive rolls for holiday mornings and special days too!

      Storage

      I always store these rolls in the refrigerator if I have leftovers. Warm in the microwave in short blitz and serve. You can also prep the rolls and the frosting ahead, warm the rolls and serve with the frosting on the side.

      Nutella Rolls

      These nutella rolls are soft and fluffy rolls with luscious swirls of nutella and hazelnuts, and with a creamy, irresistible nutella frosting!

      Ingredients

      For the Dough

      • 2¾ Cup All purpose flour
      • ½ tsp Salt
      • ¼ cup Sugar
      • ½ tsp Vanilla
      • ½ cup Milk
      • ½ cup plus 1 tbsp Heavy cream
      • 2¼ tsp Active dry yeast

      For the Filling

      • ⅔ cup Nutella
      • ⅓ cup Hazelnuts roasted and chopped

      For the Frosting (optional)

      • 4 tbsp Cream cheese
      • ¼ cup Nutella
      • ¼ cup Powdered sugar
      • 2 tbsp Butter
      • 1 tsp Vanilla

      Instructions

      • Activate the yeast in warm milk and a teaspoon of sugar until frothy. If using instant yeast, you can skip this step.
      • Add all the rest of the ingredients except the heavy cream listed under "For the Dough" into your bread machine and set it on in dough cycle until it doubles in size. You can knead the dough manually too.
      • Once the dough has doubled, punch and knead the dough. Roll it into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
      • Spread the Nutella evenly leaving a half inch on the longer side of the rolled dough. Sprinkle the chopped hazelnuts. Cut it into one and a half inch width strips.
      • Roll each strip into a coil and place in a prepared 9x9 baking dish. Prove for 40-45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375 ℉. Drizzle the heavy cream on the rolls.
      • Bake for 22-24 minutes, until the bottom sounds hollow and rolls are golden.
      • In the meantime, prepare the nutella cream cheese frosting. Add the cream cheese, nutella, powdered sugar, vanilla, and butter into abowl and beat until fluffy.
      • Spread on top of the rolls if preferred
      • Serve as such or with milk, coffee, tea, nutella cocoa or hot cocoa.
