These irresistible and soft beet and cheese rolls with gooey cheese swirl and earthy flavor are cozy and comforting rolls to serve with soups and salads.

About these beet and cheese rolls

These beet and cheese rolls are the best because not only they bring together flavor, color, and comfort in one irresistible bake but it is a blend of blend of earthy flavor, in a soft and pillowy texture, and with a vibrant visual appeal.

The cheese fillings adds richness to these rolls. A mixture of Boursin, paneer and mozarella bring a delightful cheesiness .The cheese melts into the soft, beet-infused dough, creating pockets of savory, creamy goodness that contrast beautifully with the subtle sweetness of the beets.

They're versatile. You can serve the rolls for brunch or dinner, alongside soups and salads, or as a comforting snack with tea. Kids will love to have these as a delciious afterschool snack!

This bread uses tangzhong and this adds to the pillow soft crumb that you crave for!

These rolls are naturally colored and if you are hosting themed parties, these rolls are a best fit!

Also, if you are trying to sneak some extra nutrition, yes, this is your choice to bake.

    Ingredients

In order to bake these beet and cheese rolls, you will need the following ingredients:

All purpose flour - give sthe structure to the rolls

Buttermilk - adds to the softenss of the bread

Roasted beet puree - roasted beets are easier to add and to control moisture.

Chili flakes and black pepper - gives a punch to balance the sweet beet flavor.

    Salt - gives flavor

Sugar - to activate the yeast

Butter - gives buttery flavor and tenderness to the bread

Boursin cheese - Garlic and chve flavor Boursin cheese is a perfect choice to use with this beet rolls.

Yeast - leavening agent. This recipe uses instant yeast. If using active dry yeast instead, make sure to activate it first before adding to the flour mixture.

Milk and water - to make the tangzhong.

Paneer and Mozzarella - soft non melting paneer and melty mozarella create a flavorful blend along with Boursin cheese to make these rolls extra cheesy

Herbs - cilantro and green onions boost the flavors.

Aquafaba - Gives the golden color crust during baking. This replaces egg wash. If you do not have aquafaba, use milk instead.

    Serving Suggestion

These beet and cheese rolls are a delicious side for any salad or soup. These rolls with any soup like Cabbage and Potato Soup, Potato and Spinach Soup, or simple Tomamto Soup will make your winter meal extra comforting! Or serve these rolls with Quick garden Salad during warm seasons.

Sometimes I serve these rolls with some raita, tzatziki, stewed beans or black bean soup, and with kochumber. My kids love with some marinara sauce too.

Literally, you can pair these rolls with your favorite soupos or sauces!

    Storage

I store any leftovers of these beet and cheese rolls in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. When needed, I warm them in the oven or in microwave for short 5-7 second blitz in microwave.

What a lovely color your rolls are! I'd have to eat the whole pan myself though because my husband just won't eat beets. I would willingly make the sacrifice. 🤣

Different kind of rolls to make for a party. Like how you've added beet puree to the dough. Next time I bake rolls or bread will try aquafaba for brushing on top.

Wow, they looked almost like stuffed tomatoes at first. I love the browned cheese peeking out. I've done a couple breads with beets and like them very much.
