    Ingredients

    To make this indulging hot chocolate sago, you will need the following ingredients:

    Sago - Gives the soft and chewy texture to this dessert. regular sagoi or bigger pearls can be used. Or tiny ones too. Adjust the cooking time if you are using multiple types. This recipe uses the mini and bigger pearls.

    Milk and Half & half - creates the creamy hot chocolate base

    Condensed milk - adds creaminess and sweetens the dessert

    Taylor and Colledge Madagascar Vanilla - A little bit of this high quality Madagascar vanilla adds flavor and aroma to this decadent dessert.

    Semi sweet chocolate - gives chocolatey flavor

    Toppings - fruits like banana, apples, strawberry, blueberry, persimmons work well. Walnuts, cashews, almonds, pistachios, macadamia or your favorite nut can be added. To make it extra special add chocolates and marshmallow on top to elevate the indulging experience.

    Note - Bigger pearls will need about 25 minutes cooking time. If you want to make a quicker dessert use the mini sago which will cook in about 12-15 minutes. Depending on what you have on hand and your time, choose the sago pearls to make this quick dessert.

    Serving Suggestions

    This recipe makes four dessert servings. If serving smaller portions can make about 6 servings. You can double the recipe if you need more servings.

    For cold winter, serve this dessert hot or warm. However, for warmer weather, you can serve this chilled. In bith the ways, this is a satisfying and comforting dessert that is easy to make.

    Storage

    If any leftovers, I store it in the refrigerator and it stays great fro two to three days. You can serve it cold or warm the hot chocolate sago in the microwave and top with fruits and nuts before serving.

    Ingredients

    • ¼ cup Small sago
    • ¼ cup Big sago
    • ½ cup condensed milk
    • ¾ cup Half and Half
    • 1 cup Whole milk
    • 1 tsp tsp vanilla
    • ½ cup Semi sweet chocolate chips

    Toppings

    • ⅓ cup Strawberries chopped
    • ⅓ cup bananas chopped
    • ⅓ cup Apples chopped
    • ⅓ cup Nuts -slices almonds, walnuts, pistachios

    Instructions

    • Cook the sago pearls according to the package directions. The bigger boba needsa about 25 minutes cooking time. The mini sago will cook in about 12-15 minutes. Cover for 5 minutes. Drain the sago and rinse with water.

    • In the meantime make hot chocolate by heating milk, half and half, condensed milk, vanilla, and chocolate chips until it is hot and about to boil.

    • Add the sago to the hot chocolate.

    • Toassemble and serve: Ladle the hot chocolate sago into serving bowls. Top with fruits and nuts. Serve hot, warm or chilled.
