These turtle cookie bars are irresistible dessert or snack melding chocolate, carame, and pecans on a buttery cookie base! That sea salf flake on top gives the elevated flavor profile. These decadent bars are great for any occasion and are perfect for cookie trays and cookie exchanges.

    Why turtle cookie bars?

The first and foremost reason to make these cookie sis because of the trio that give the decadent flavor combination!! The chocolate-caramel-pecan combination is addictive making it the popular one among most of the people. Can there be anything better than these bars?

The cookie a perfect texture contrast as well. The buttery cookie base topped with chocolate, creamy caramel and crunchy pecans. What else could be better than this!

In the bar form, these are easy to carry anywhere. That's why I recommend you to take these bars for picnics or potlucks. You could also give these turtle cookie bars as edible gifts too! And they make a delicious item to add to cookie trays!

    Ingredients

You will require the following ingredients to make these decadent turtle cookie bars.

Butter - Adds flavor to the cookies.

All purpose flour - this forms the base of the cookies

Brown sugar - for the perfect cookie bars and for making the caramel layer.

Chocolate chips - gives the chocolatey layer on top of these bars.

Pecan - adds to the flavor, texture of the cookie.

    Vanilla - enhances flavor.

Sea salt flakes - Adds an extra dimension of flavor to the addictive bars. This is optional but I highly recommend this.

These are easy to make and make a great gift. Therefore you might want to consider baking a couple of batches to celebrate the holiday season for cookie trays and gifts, as well as for enjoying with your family. You can also easily scale up the recipe.

    Storage

I store these cookies at room temperature for 5 days and these are gone before you know. You may store these in the refrigerator for extra shelf life.

Yes to all the flaves in these cookie bars! They remind me of Mom's matzo caramel crack but with pecans in there.
