Now do you need any other reason? Let's move on to chekc the ingredents you'll need to make this delicious dip.
Ingredients
This dip requires the following ingredients:
Cottage cheese - This recipe uses small curd cottage cheese. It adds tons of texture and flavor.
Cream cheese - Adds protein, nutrition, as well as forms the creamy base for the dip.
Greek yogurt - This boosts calcium and flavor. This is a substitute that I prefer to use instead of sour cream.
Shredded cheese - Although this recipe uses a mixture of cheddar and Jack cheese, you may use either or both in this recipe. Cheddar gives a great flavor. You may also try substituting with habanero jack or ghost pepper jack for that spicy kick.
Paneer - Creamy paneer adds a delicious flavor. Fresh or grated paneer works well. In case you do not have this, you may substitute with queso fresco.
Dill pickle relish - This is the falvor factor in this dip. A generous amount of this gives that characteristic tang, saltiness that you crave for!
Bread and butter chips - A little bit of this on the sweeter side balances the flavors.
Herbs - dill is a must as it gives the characteristic flavor. I use either cilatro or parsley depending on what I have on hand.A little green onion adds crunch as well as flavor.
Garlic - fresh chopped garlic is a key flavor ingredient. you mau also substtute with garlic powder or store bought minced garlic.
Salt and pepper - gives flavor
Jalapeno - adds texture as well as flavor kick. You may replace with spicy peppers if you want to amp up the heat.
Serving Suggestions
This dip is versatile. I serve this with chips and veggies. Sweet peppers and carrots are my favorite ones to have with dip. Pita chips, potato, or even pretzel will work great with this recipe.
Storage
This easy dill pickle dip can be stored in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. I serve the ledtovers for anotehr day snack.
You may also use any leftovers in quick sandwiches as a spread. Yet another way I use this is for making grilled cheese. I lovethe flavor it imparts to grilled cheese for a tasty yet comforting makeover meal.
