    Red velvet hot cocoa bombs

    Dec 12, 2021 · 10 Comments

A cup of hot cocoa is a perfect and comforting drink as the mercury keeps going below. There is nothing relaxing than hot cocoa to enjoy with kids! When it is a hot cocoa bomb, the fun is multiplied. This red velvet hot chocolate/cocoa bombs are just the perfect ones you are looking for and for this season, it is an amazing to one to gift too!

Did you know that it is easy to make hot cocoa bombs at home? You need not spend a lot, they are budget friendly to make at home. All you need are red candymelts, some chocolate chips, hot cocoa mix, and sprinkles are optional. You'll need a 2-in cavity silicone mold too. These mold make life easier and once the candymelts are set, just push out and take out the half domes.

I have used my own Hot Cocoa Mix. Store-bought mix can also be used. Also, play around with your flavored hot cocoa mix to make it more fun. Serve with extra cream, marshmallows, sprinkles etc. I ran out of vegan marshmallows and couldn't add here.

Like I said, it is easier. Sealin the domes may sound challenging, but not at all. here is the quick tip for a perfect seal. Use a warm plate to rub the edges of the half domes for a perfect edge and to seal . The melted candymelts will help seal the domes together. The final decoration part is optional, but it makes it look very festive and cool. Let te kids play around and add their favorite sprinkles.

To make hot cocoa, add two hot cocoa boms for 240ml or 1 cup hot water/milk. Milk makes a creamier hot cocoa. This will taste perfect with water too! Add whipped cream and extra marshmallows and sprinkles for extra fun. Add the instruction label when you pack these as gifts.

If you are a hot cocoa lover, try this Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa Bombs and Peppermint Hot Chocolate Bombs. These make an amazing edible gifts. Also, during the holidays, when you make hot cocoa bar, having these make ahead hot cocoa bombs, makes entertaining easier as well as it would be more fun!

I am sharing this red velvet hot cocoa bombs for the same!
    Ingredients
    Makes 10
    Candymelts red color - 1.5cups
Hot cocoa mix - 10-15 tbsp
Mini chocolate chips - 5 tsp
    Whilte chocolate chips - 20
    Sprinkles (optional)
    Mini marshmallows (not used here)
    Decoration (optional)
Candy melts, white - 3 tbsp
    Sprinkles
    Method
Melt the candymelts in microwave or in double boiler. You might need about one and a half minute in microwave. Mix thoroughly to get a uniform smooth consistency.

Take about 3/4 tsp and spread on each 2-in cavity in the silicone mold. Set aside to cool. Once it has set, gently push out the silicone mold to get the half domes. Set aside in a plate.
Rub the edges of half of the domes on a warm plate. this will smooth the edges. Fill the halfdomes with one to one and a half tablespoon hot cocoa mix, add mini chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, sprinkles, and marshmallows.
Rub the edge of the remaining half dome, and seal the filled half dome. The candy that melts at the surface will act as glue holding and sealing. Repeat with the rest.

Optional decoration: Melt the white candy melts. Add to a piping bag and drizzle over the hot chocolate/cocoa bombs. Add sprinkles and leave it to set for a couple of minutes.

To make hot cocoa: Take a cup, place the hot cocoa bomb and add hot milk/water, carefully. The candyshell will melt, releasing the contents. Stir, add whipped cream (if preferred) and enjoy!
