This grilled cilantro lime paneer is a vibrant, zesty Indian-inspired dish that’s perfect as an appetizer, side, or even in wraps and bowls. It is full of robust flavors and is a great addition to any outdoor or grill parties. This is even great for a weekend special meal too.

    Why should you make this?

The grilled paneer pops with bold flavors from the zesty lime and cilantro. It’s refreshing and vibrant without being heavy.

Paneer is rich in protein and calcium, especially great for vegetarians. Grilling adds a smoky dimension without deep-frying.

This paneer dish is versatile and it can be served as a snack, appetizer, part of a main course, or in wraps, bowls, or sandwiches.

Grilling (instead of frying) keeps it light, and the marinade is made with simple, wholesome ingredients. This is equally delicious as the popular tikka masala version.

Summing up, simple and bold flavors of lemon and cilantro along with cumin, garlic, and the spicy kick from Serrano peppers makes a perfect marinade for creamy and meaty paneer. And grilled to perfection! That's the simple reason for these tasty yet simple grilled cilantro lime paneer!

Ingredients for grilled cilantro lime paneer

You will need the following ingredients:

Paneer - Creamy and milky paneer gives the best flavors. For vegan option, use tofu instead.

    Salt - gives flavor

Lime - Boosts the flavor with a tang!

Cilantro - Adds lovely herbaceous aroma and flavor.

Serrano pepper and cayenne - packs a punch of spicy flavor. You may adjust as per your heat tolerance.

Oil - rounds of the flavor while cooking.

Cumin - Adds earthy flavor and aroma

Garlic - Enhances the flavor this paneer.

    Serving Suggestions

We often use paneer or tofu for grilling along with seasonal fresh veggies. Although this recipe features it as an appetizer, you can easily make a meal out of it when you serve with breads, salads, etc.

    Storage

You can store the paneer with marinade for a day in the refrigerator. If you have leftovers of grilled paneer, I would recommend storing it in the refrigerator and reheat it when needed on a pan.
