    Malai Paneer Tikka

    Dec 18, 2021 · 26 Comments

This malai paneer tikka is an incredible appetizer as well as snack. The flavors are SO perfect that you can't say no to this. This is perfect for all ages! The addictive taste of this tikka would make sure it gets often repeated in your menu.

There are many ways to make paneer tikka. This particular recipe uses cream, yogurt, and spices. This results in a tikka that is not colored. The white color of cream and yogurt is retained as well as a perfect balanced taste.
When making, make sure to soak the skewers for atleast two hours in water. This prevents it from burning. Also, line a baking tray with foil while broiling, so that any drips from the skewers can be cleaned easily. Turn the skewer to each side after 6 minute. Then as soon as it gets a char, flip the side for even and beautiful coloration.
This malai tikka is made with cream and yogurt marinade and is different from the regular tandoori masala marinade. This malai paneer with the creamy taste and color is perfect one with the colors of holiday season and is perfect for any day or for a special Christmas meal too! I served it along with Vegan Coconut Milk Pulao, Snowball Kurma/Baby Aloo Kurma, Raita, Naan, Methi Matar Malai, and Poha kheer!

I am sharing recipes with paneer for this week's Blogging Marathon, Happiness is Homemade, Holiday Time Party Treats for Foodie Monday Blog Hop, and to Sundays on Silverado. Who doesn't love paneer? This addictive malai paneer tikka is my share for the day. Check the recipe for delicious and soft Paneer Burji Swirl Bread that I shared earlier.

This paneer is very addictive, but to make a vegan version use tofu instead. Make sure to press out all the water out of tofu before marinating. Also try this Vegan Butternut Squash and Chestnut Kebabs for yet another delicious snack/meal!
    Ingredients
    Serves 6-8
    Paneer - 400g, cut into 1.5-in cubes
Bell pepper (red and green) - 1 cup
    Onion - 1/2 cup, chunks
    For the marinade
    Thick yogurt - 5 tbsp
    Heavy cream - 5 tbsp
    Salt - 3/4 tsp
    Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
    Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
    Ginger - 2-in. piece
    Garlic - 4 cloves
    Green chili - 4 to 6
Black pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
    Oil - 1 tbsp
    Method
Mix the ingredients listed under "marinade" in a bowl.
Coat the paneer and veggie pieces in this mixture and let is rest for 30 minutes.
Add the paneer and veggie pieces to a skewer soaked prior in water.
Broil on HI for 10-12 minutes turning each side. When it gets a beautiful char, remove from the oven.
    Serve hot/warm.
