This is the ultimate comfort meal made with the flavors of street food! This is a monster sandwich that easily feeds the whole family! Layers of the comforting flavors will make you dance easily. Sweet, spicy, and mouth puckering flavors all in one bite and that is simply amazing.
Have you ever wondered about your ultimate comfort, street food that can be made into a wrap? Well, this is your pit stop then! Samosa chaat will be any one's favorite and a wrap with this wrap or roll is made with it. The samosa filling, channa, green chutney, sweet chutney will make everyone praise this comfort meal! The samosa potato filling is always delicious and it is a crowd pleaser whether you make it as a traditional samosa or twist it a little to make Crescent Roll Samosa Wreath, Puff Pastry Samosa Pinwheels, or Samosa Muffins.
All you need to make this family roll/wrap are:
Samosa filling - potato filling with cumin and coriander that is always delicious
Channa - a dry curry is used in this roll as opposed to the liquid one in the classic chaat. Using a dry curry makes the wrapping or rolling easily, it doesn't become soggy as well as the bread won't break apart.
Toamto slices
Onion slices
Green chutney - cilantro mint chutney, homemade or store bought ones can be used. Adjust the spiciness as per flavor preferences
Sweet chutney - tamarind dates chutney, homemade or store bought ones can be used.
Paneer
Sev
Cilantro
Sprouts
Lettuce
Tandoori Masala Dressing - This dressing (recipe here) is a creamy dressing that adds to the flavors of the roll. Since it is thick, it kind of helps not make the roll soggy immediately.
Chaat masala - sprinkle this generously for the flavor of black salt and spices gives the most wanted mouth puckering flavor.
and the Lavash wrap
The lavash wrap is a Mediterranean bread that is kind of close to two feet long. I made the roll in this bread asthis makes a whole roll that is easy to make for the family and gives the satisfaction of having the same taste of samosa covering. This absolutely works in whole wheat chapathi and we make that often as we love chaat flavors. Roomali roti can be used too.
When making this roll, leave about 1 to 1.5 inches on one of the longer sides as this would help in neat finishing of the roll. Also you'll need toothpicks to hold the roll as well as to serve on a platter.
Like I said, this is an easy meal and is a perfect one to serve to guests too. One lavash wrap can easily feed hungry people. If serving to guests, the size may be reduced when you have more items on the menu. The chutneys, the samosa filling and garbanzos, along with the fresh bite of lettuce, tomatoes, and onion make this a memorable and loved meal. I can guarantee that you'll love to make this often and you'll have most of the items in your pantry other than the Lavash wrap. Any flatbread can be used to make it in a jiffy.
Wondering what to serve with this? No worries, this is great with any drink like a lemonade, say this Dragonfruit Lemonade or this classic Nannari Sarbath are ideal. Lassi is a great option too! Mango Lassi, Guava Lassi, Very Berry Lassi, and Caramel Apple Pie Lassi would be a perfect drink on the side along with this roll.
This week I am sharing "Wraps and Rolls" as the theme for the Blogging Marathon. This is an amazing theme. Be it an individual cuisine or a mix of cuisines, the outcome is always a tasty wrap or a roll that satisfies your hunger. I shared Avocado and Siracha Pinwheel Wraps earlier for the theme.
