Another view of green and red salsa paratha

This green and red salsa paratha, as the name indicates, is made with tomato/tomatillo salsa and whole wheat flour. This vegan paratha can be served for any meal as such, or with extra salsa, salad, or yogurt.

Why Green and Red Salsa Paratha

These parathas are tasty and easy to make. The addition of salsa makes this unique. The added salsa adds a zing and the mild reverberating flavor at the back makes this the best to gobble as such.

My kids call green and red salsa for tomatillo and tomato salsa. So the name of the paratha also stays with that. Not just these salsa, you can use your favorite flavor of salsa for a tasty flatbread of your own spin.

Though I make my own fresh salsa for chip and dip, this recipe uses fire roasted jalapeño and roasted tomato or roasted jalapeno and roasted tomatillo. Salsa is used to make the dough instead of water and that is the reason these parathas gave a great taste. Further, the The fire roasted salsa lends an extra kick of flavor to the paratha as well.

    Serving Suggestions

These parathas can be served as such as they are tasty with hint of fire roasted salsa. Serve these parathas with yogurt, corn salad, or with some guacamole for a Mexican flair added to the Indian meal. Moreover, I serve this with Creamy Chipotle Corn Chowder or with Chipotle Paneer Curry too. In addition, this paratha can be served with black bean soup or pinto bean soup too.

    Storage

I store these parathas for a day at room temperature. These parathas will stay longer when refrigerated. I prefer to make these because they are great to pack for lunch with a Mexican salad or soup.
