    Jalapeno Cheddar Swirls

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

These jalapeño cheddar swirls are soft, fluffy savory bread packed with cheesy, spicy, delicious and flavorful filling of sharp cheddar cheese, fresh and pickled jalapeños creating beautiful swirls in every slice.

    About these jalapeno cheddar swirls

Who doesn't love jalapeno popper dip? If that dip is filled in a bread roll, you have these jalapeno cheddar swirls. These rolls are a great combination of soft homemade bread with a savory, cheesy filling that is comfy and cozy. In fact, these are double in flavors as the dough also has jalapenos and cheese in addition to the filling! Double the flavor, double the fun!

These rolls use tangzhong method and it yields softness to the bread. It gives softness on storage too. That's the reason I always love to add tanghong to my dough.

The rolled and sliced dough creates attractive swirls that look just as good as they taste. They are perfect for sharing at gatherings or serving as an appetizer

The filling is creamy and cheesy! Cream cheese and sharp cheddar along with a little mozzarella cheese provides a beautiful cheesy flavor.

It is rich in flavors. Fresh jalapeños bring a mild heat and fresh pepper flavor while the pickled jalapenos add a flavor balance with the creaminess of the creamcheese and the gooeyness of the cheddar and mozzarella.

These are versatile to serve for any meal whether it is for breakfast, lunch, dinner it is so cozy and comforting. You can also serve these with ranch as an appetizer.

Customize by adding your own herbs and cheese to make it your own. These are absolutely amazng to serve at your holiday table.

    Ingredients

To make the cloud like jalapeno cheddar swirls or rolls, you will need the following ingredients:

All purpose flour - This flour provides a structure to the bread. I recommend using the unbleached all purpose flour.

Instant yeast - leavens the bread. If you use active dry yeast, activate and use.

Salt - gives flavor to the savory bread

Sugar - to activate the yeast

Cheese - Cream cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, and a little mozarella cheese adds a wonderful savory flavor and melts into the layers of bread, making every swirl delicious and cheesy.

Jalapenos - fresh and pickled jalapenos give a flavor balance. You could adjust as per four preference.

Cilantro - gives the best aroma. Cilantro pairs beautifully with cheese and jalapenos. Alternatively, use a herb that you might love.

Butter - enhances the flavor and softness of the bread.

Garlic - adds o the top notch flavors.

Milk - enriches the dough with flavors and adds softness

    Serving Suggestions

I love to serve these warm, straight out of the oven, when the cheddar is still soft and gooey! Simply delicious!

You can pair these rolls easily to serve with tomato soup, Curried Carrot and roasted red pepper soup, or a creamy vegetable soup. Or any soup basically!

As an appetizer, I love to serve these swirls with simple buttermilk ranch and your guests are going to ask for more. That's definite!

These can also a great addition to your breakfast and brunch table. Alternatively, serve these with a cup of afternoon chai. I love that!

    Storage

You can store any leftovers in an airtight container for 1-2 days at room temperature. However, I recommend storing these in the refrigerator as it has cheese in it and it also extends shelf life avoiding food wastage. I recommend refrigerating in an airtight container for up to 4 or 5 days.

When you crave for one, just warm in the oven at 300°F for about 5 to 8 minutes or until heated through. You can also microwave individual swirls for 10 to 12 seconds.
