This bread is colored with matcha. If you want a stronger green color, increase matcha by another tablespoon.
The color of the bread depends on the matcha powder used. Matcha is a finely ground specially grown green tea leaves in east Asia. It is widely popular for its benefits. Adding to baked goods is an amazing idea. Breads like this Matcha Orange Loaf is an amazing and delicious that you'd love to bake often!
Happy New Year #BreadBakers! We are starting this year’s events with a colorful beginning. Our theme for this month is “Naturally Colored Breads” and I am hosting this event. #BreadBakers is a group of bread loving bakers who get together once a month to bake bread with a common ingredient or theme. Follow our Pinterest board right here. Links are also updated each month on this home page. We take turns hosting each month and choosing the theme/ingredient.
This naturally colored bread is my recipe for the #BreadBakers event as well as to Happiness is Homemade, What's For Dinner, and Sundays on Silverado.
Add the tangzhong, activated yeast, melted butter, matcha, flour, salt, aquafaba, and milk powder into the bread machine. Set it in dough cycle. The dough can be kneaded by hand too.
Make the cookie dough with the ingredients listed under "cookie dough". Roll into a log and refrigerate.
Knead and divide the dough to nine equal portions.
Roll each portion into a 5 or 6-in circle. Add about one to one and quarter tablespoons of cream cheese mixture. Gather the ends and shape into a ball.
Make cross patterns on the cookie dough resembling pineapple or melon.
Repeat with the rest of the dough. Prove for 30 minutes. When it proves, preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
