    This gluten-free mixed berry crisp is the ultimate berrilicious dessert, made with the season's freshest berries and topped with a delicious almond-oat streusel. Serve it warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for a truly heavenly summer treat.

    Ingredients

    You'll need the following ingredients:

    Mixed berries - use a mixture of fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries

    Oats - oat flour and rolled oats give the crunchy texture and make this dessert gluten free

    Corn flour - thickening agent

    Almonds - almond flour and sliced almonds are used to give nutty flavor. I addition this enriches the protein and provides lovely texture

    Butter

    Salt - gives a flavor.

    Brown sugar - sweetens the dessert

    Vanilla - adds a layer of flavoring

    Lemon juice - preserves the color and brightens up the dessert

    Serving Suggestions

    This is phenomenal summer dessery when you serve with a scoop of vanilla icecream. Warm berries with crunchy topping with cold frozen vanilla icecream is a definite paradise kind of dessert! If you ran out of icecream, don't worry, just whip up some cream and there is your phenomenal dessert.

    Storage

    I store leftovers in the refrigerator for a couple of days. As this is best served warm, pop in the oven for a quick warm and serve as such or with whipped cream.

    This mixed berry crisp is the ultimate summer dessert with warm, juicy berries bubbling beneath a golden, buttery, nutty oat-almond topping.

    Ingredients

    For the Fruit Layer

    • 1 cup Strawberry sliced
    • 1 cup Blueberry 
    • ¼ cup Raspberry
    • ¼ cup Blackberry
    • ½ tsp Vanilla
    • 1½ tbsp Corn flour
    • ½ tsp Lemon Juice

    For the Streusel Topping

    • ¾ cup Rolled oats
    • ¼ cup Oat flour
    • ¼ cup Almond flour
    • ¼ cup Sliced almonds
    • ½ cup Brown sugar
    • 2½ tbsp Butter cold, cubed
    • ⅛ tsp Salt

    For Serving (optional)

    • Whipped cream or icecream

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
    • Add the rolled oats, oat flour, almond flour, brown sugar, salt, and two tablespoons cold butter to a bowl. Use a pastry cutter and mix the butter into the flour mixture to form a crumbly mixture.
    • Add the sliced almonds and mix.
    • Add the berries, vanilla, lemon juice, and corn starch to a bowl. mix.
    • Transfer to a oven safe 5.5X5.5-in or 6x6-in dish.
    • Add the oats crumble on top. Add the remaining butter on top. Bake for 27-28 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbly and golden on top.
    • Remove from the oven, cool.
    • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
