This is a tasty and easy chutmey made with pecans, garlic, and red chilies. This is best with idlies and dosa. This is also a tasty dip for veggies and chips.

This is prepared very similar to peanut chutney, which is a classic one. Any nuts can be made into chutney. This pecan chutney tastes addictively delicious. This is one of the chutney that disappears very quickly in our home. I love this as a dip with carrots and sweet peppers for a healthy snack or snack style meal.

Nut based chutneys are very healthy too. Essential vitamins are available in nuts and chutneys are a great way if you have picky eaters. This chutney is a favorite one in the family next to peanuts in the nut based chutney category. This is utterly delicious with idlies.

November is National Georgia Pecan Month and Wendy is hodting an event and we are sharing pecan recipes. The tasty pecans are versatile and are great for nibbling as well as in desserts. I am sharing this chutney for the event.  Also, linking this to Full Plate Thursday and Thursday Favorite Things. I have used Milican Pecans and these are the best pecans. I love the flavor of these than any other brand. Click here to buy Milican Pecans.

Pecan Ladoo or urundai is ana amazing and delicious treat. Also, these are great as toppings in muffins, casseroles, breads etc., like in this Pumpkin, Pecan, and Cinnamon Chip Muffins.

    Ingredients

    Pecan - 1/2 cup, toasted
    Oil - 1/2 tsp
    Garlic - 2 cloves
    Dried red chili - 3
    Salt - 1/2 tsp
    Tempering
    Oil - 1 tsp
    Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
    Asafetida - 1/8 tsp

    Method

Taost the pecans and set aside. Add half teaspoon oil and saute the dried red chiles and garlic for a minute until golden. Cool.

Grind with salt. Add water slowly and grind to a smooth consistency. Transfer to a bowl.

Heat oil in the pan and add mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds splutter add the asafetida, fry for a few seconds. Pour on top of the chuteny.

Serve as a dip for veggies, idli, or dosa.

Here are the links we shared today to celebrate National Georgia Pecan Month, Thanks, Wendy!

We love idli with chutneys so any time there's a new type chutney we are right on it.
