Chocolatey Whole Wheat Date Sugar Banana Bread

    Jun 4, 2022 · Leave a Comment

This is the most delicious and chocolatey whole wheat banana bread that is made with no added sugar. Date sugar sweetens the bread and gives an amazing nutrition profile to the bread. If desired to make a vegan version, use vegan chocolate chips instead of regular milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips. Drizzle with extra date syrup or chocolate syrup for extra fun!
Yes, this bread is made with no sugar! NO SUGAR! Bananas and dates are naturally sweet and that is more than enough to make this bread sweet. This loaf has the perfect amount of sweetness, not too sweet not too bland! Just the right and perfect sweetness. So, this banana bread is very healthy and a great breakfast or snack, and is also great on the go!

There are strong reasons why you need to make this bread.
    • Delicious
    • Healthy
    • Chocolatey
    • No sugar added
    • Great nutrition profile
    • Whole wheat bread
The above reasons would convince anyone to try this bread, and when you try once, you will make this regularly at home!

Date sugar is a great option. This is easy because there is no soaking or grinding of dates. Dates are rich in iron and other nutrients that there is no need to elaborate them here as they are well known. Date sugar is nothing but powdered dry dates. If you do not find date sugar in the market shelves, just powder the dry dates and that is good to go. Make sure you have a good and powerful grinder to make a powdered form of dry dates.

Dates and bananas are great egg substitutes and this bread is super delicious and extra moist with added applesauce too. This is made with whole wheat flour and flax seed powder is also used. With all the super ingredients, this banana bread is a powerhouse of nutrition! This can be made into a muffin or mini loaves too, adjust the baking time accordingly.
Walnuts are used in this recipe. This can be replaced with almonds or pecans too. Nuts can also be added on the top before baking. Plant based milk is used here and this recipe works with any plant based milk. I have used semi-sweet chocolate chips and if that is replaced with vegan chocolate chips, this delicious banana bread can be made as a vegan bread. This bread is very much similar to the whole wheat banana bread that is often made here.
This chocolatey, delicious, and healthy banana bread with date sugar is a great breakfast bread. Kids would go nuts over this banana bread and it is a great one to pack as a great snack or an after school snack. Any kid would love to gobble these up and there will always be requests to make this more often. This is a great snack on the go when kids go to sport practices too! I am sharing this for amazing back to school snacks for this week's Blogging Marathon. I am also linking this to Full Plate Thursday, Wonderful Wednesday, and Thursday Favorite Things.
