This cherry compote is a small batch simple and sweet fruit sauce made with fresh seasonal cherries and with a hint of lemon. Spread it on your toast or use it to make delicious and easy desserts.

    Why make cherry compote?

This simple cherry compote is one of the best and easy way to preserve and enjoy sweet juicy cherries during summer as their flavorful at the peak of the season.

Cherry compote is easy and quick. In about 15 to 20 minutes, you will have flavorful cherries turned into delicious sauce to top your breakfast and desserts. To aid the process, I highly recommend using a cherry pitter as it saves tons of your precious time.

This makes your dishesmore elegant but with less effort. A drizzle or a spoonful of this adds a vibrant color and amazing flavor to your meal.

This is a versatile sauce that you could use it on your pancakes, waffles, toast, or oatmeal enriching the flavor experience brightening the morning. When you add it to your desserts like cheesecake, icecream, etc it is another level of flavor explosion. That pop of beautiful color and the burst of flavor instantly makes the whole experience elevated!

This sauce is customizable and is naturally gluten free and vegan. This recipe uses vegan friendly sugar which makes the sauce vegan. You can use the type of sugar that you might have on hand if you do not prefer a vegan version. Additionally, swap the squirt of lemon with orange. Or add a pinch of spices like cinnamon or cardamom which leads to new flavor dimensions. Make it your easily!

With this recipe, make this tasty compote at home for a fraction of cost.

    Ingredients

To make this cherry compote, you will need simple pantry staples:

Cherries - fresh juicy sweet tart cherries make the best compote. Use the fresh summer seasonal produce. If using frozen, you might have to adjust the thickener

Sugar - a little to sweeten the sauce

    Corn starch - thckening agent

Lemon juice - adds a bright flavor

Water - to make cornstarch slurry

Vanilla - adds aroma and flavor

    Serving Suggestion

I love to have my toast with a little schemer of creamcheese topped with this cherry compote. It is a delicious way to start my day. Another way is to use with my bowl of oatmeal - healthy made tastier with this compote. You can also serve with pancakes, of course.

Brighten up your boring desserts with this cherry compote which is effortless to make and yet its addition makes more elegant and elevated desserts. Top your cheesecake, icre cream. Use the compote to make this cherry falooda or this iced cherry and green tea latte! Sky is the limit when you use this cherry compote amking everything extra delicious.

Oh, how I wish cherries were still in season here. I was so sad to see that they are no longer at my local farmer's market. If they were, I would definitely be making this fabulous compote!!!
