    Turmeric Latte

    Apr 11, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Turmeric latte aka manjal podi (turmeric powder) paal (milk) is famous in many Indian homes. It is a wonderful remedy for cold and cough. Remember the days our mom gave this wonderful drink when we were sick as well as on any other day! - a simple drink, yet effective. Hot/warm turmeric milk is soothing to your throat, aids in good sleep and helps in a quick recovery. In this latte, black pepper is added which also benefits us during cold and cough. The combination of turmeric and black pepper, with hot milk.....that's one delicious milk as well as a cheap and best home remedy. No side effects at all, only benefits! Even when not having a cold or cough we have had turmeric milk every day too. Most of the time we never bought any chocolate flavoring powders to flavor our milk in childhood days. Instead, we drank more of this turmeric milk which has helped our health in the long run. Turmeric, a magical spice, has a nice aroma and adds a beautiful golden yellow color to the food. It is used in everyday Indian cuisine. In fact, almost all our food has turmeric and asafoetida in them. If I start to list its health benefits, I would go on and on. So, let me cut short here and give the recipe for turmeric latte. It is so simple and easy to make.

    Ingredients:
    Milk - 1 cup
    Turmeric - 1/8 tsp
    Black pepper - 2 pinch
    Sugar - optional
A pinch of turmeric and black pepper can be topped as well.
    Method
Heat the milk on a heavy-bottomed pot over low-medium flame. Stir often to make sure it is not scalding. When it starts to boil, switch off the flame, add the turmeric powder and black pepper powder. Add sugar if you want for taste and mix well.

Pour in a cup, top with a pinch of turmeric powder and pepper powder. Enjoy your steaming cup of turmeric latte!
