Apple Date Sugar Halwa

This simple, easy, and nutritious apple date sugar halwa is the healthy fall dessert that can be made quick with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Apples grated
  • ¾ cup Date sugar
  • 1 -2 Cardamom crushed
  • 5-6 tbsp Ghee
  • 4 tbsp Slivered almonds
  • 4 tbsp Raisins

Instructions

  • Add the grated apples and 4 tablespoon of ghee to a pan and cook for 4-5 minutes over medium flame.
  • Add the date sugar, mix and continue to cook for 15-17 minutes until all the liquid has evaporated.
  • Add the crushed cardamom, cook for 2 more minutes. Remove from the flame.
  • Heat remaining ghee in a pan. Fry the almonds until golden and the raisins all puffed up.
  • Add it to the halwa and mix.
  • Serve warm as such or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
